Several years ago, a friend of mine told me the story of a conversation he had with his young nephew. He was playing the part of the wise uncle, sharing insight and valuable life lessons. The nephews response was golden and a lesson to all leaders. Often, if the people we lead just had the information they needed they would perform better. There is certainly no shortage of training available today. Daily, I get an offer from an “expert” who wants to entice me to a “free” webinar where they will give me just enough to then want to commit dollars to get the full impact. In today’s world, we have more vehicles to train than ever before. It doesn’t matter if the training is face to face or a webinar. What matters is the content and the method it is delivered. At RSM, we firmly believe in the necessity of training and equipping new team members while also providing ongoing development throughout the tenure of all employees.
